Zendaya Coleman claimed she’d been stiffed by a store clerk because of her “skin tone” in a lighthearted series of Snapchat videos Tuesday, echoing the seminal 1990 rom-com’s most memorable scene.

Meanwhile, in the background, her male friend was cosigning every word Zendaya uttered. She started by saying that she was unable to buy $400 in gift cards at the store due to a worker, who apparently “wasn’t a huge fan” of her skin tone.

‘There are certain limits or whatever so you can only by so much, ‘ Zendaya continued. But the lady that was helping us. “And she was like, “You can’t afford this” was how she looked at me. I can’t make this up!” the actress said in incredulously.

“This is what we deal with”, the actress said.

The activist ended her rant by noting that there’s still “so much progress to be done” when it comes to racism in the world.

The “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star then corrected herself in a later video, saying that the store clerk didn’t throw her wallet, but actually tossed it toward her.

‘It wasn’t like a throw it was like a toss with my cards still loose.my card fell on the scanner and she began helping other customers’. “She was about to keep scanning the next person. What are you doing?’ You know what, it’s all love!”

In a later Snapchat video, Zendaya explained that the Vons manager came to help, and in the end, she was able to buy the gift cards.
