Zendaya fires back at comedian over skinny-shaming comments
While many thought Zendaya looked radiant at yesterday’s Kids’ Choice Awards, comedian Julie Klausner was not among them, and she took to Twitter to criticize the actress-singer for her rail-thin appearance.

After the slim “K.C. Undercover” starlet accepted the award for Favorite Female TV Star, Klausner, 37, took to social media to critique the 19-year-old’s physique.
Zendaya thanked parents for allowing her to be a role model for their children during her acceptance speech at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, but comedian Julie Klausner sees her as a different kind of model for kids.
Zendaya caught wind of the tweets and wrote back, “Do you find this amusing?” “Now … everyone go look in the mirror at their handsome body, and love that sh-t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning“. After hoards of Zendaya fans came for Klausner on Twitter, her next move was to offer an olive branch: “1) all women are lovely and 2) Zendaya hates Jews?” she joked. Klausner wrote that she “will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate unsafe beauty standards”.
“I’m concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya”. Hopefully Klausner has learned her lesson, but for now the embarrassment of the still-existing tweets ought to do the trick.
According to Daily Mail, the battle started after Klausner called Zendatya a “thinspo model for your impressionable tweens”. “I do not worry about Zendaya’s health or care whether she eats”, she said. “This means so, so much to me”.
“Making positive programming for young people is so important to me…” She explained, “I’m not for everyone”.

After being drug across the platform through the night by the likes of feminist author Roxane Gray and BuzzFeed writer Tracy Clayton, Klausner eventually did fess up in the smallest of ways to her error. She even said, “You can take it or leave it!”
