Madrid have not given any details about what will be discussed by the board or at the press conference, but it comes amid speculation about the future of under-fire coach Rafael Benitez.

As well as turning up the heat on Benitez, the Bernabeu mauling also led to a few home fans calling for long-serving president Perez to resign.

“I am coach of Castilla and Benitez of the first team”.

The former Valencia, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Napoli manager, the 10th Perez has hired, could be replaced by former Real and France great Zinedine Zidane, who is now in charge of the club’s B team, local media have reported.

Zidane, who made more than 150 appearances over a five-year spell as a player with Real, has been in charge of Castilla since June 2014.

However, there is the possibility that the Spaniard will be given the full backing of the president in the wake of the defeat, a move that could make things even worse for Benítez given the level of dissatisfaction with Perez among fans at the moment. I am with Castilla and if I stay at the club it is the coach of Castilla. “Right now I’m at Castilla”.

“I’ve said before that I want to wait until the end of the season before I take my next coaching job and I won’t change my mind”.

“People used to say the same thing about me, that I selected my team based on what Florentino Pérez told me”. The important thing is to be happy day-to-day with what I am doing.
