Zika Virus: Florida Theme Parks Offer Guests Free Bug Repellent
Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Entertainment will start distributing free insect repellent Sunday, as the threat of mosquito-borne Zika looms.

Zika has alarmed health officials around the world due to the virus causing birth defects when expecting mothers become infected.
Health officials have not found any locally-transmitted cases of zika virus in Orlando.
So let’s add putting on the bug spray to wearing sunscreen and drinking plenty of water to our list of theme park safety tips, to help ensure that you and your family stay safe and comfortable on your next visit to the parks.
Gamache said he’s more anxious about protecting himself from the sun when visiting the theme parks.
“Out of an abundance of caution, starting today we will offer guests complimentary EPA- approved insect repellent along with other theme parks in the area”. Disney World, Universal and Sea World Orlando say they’re doing this out of an abundance of caution.
There will also be aerosol cans in guest rooms at the resorts.
Each of the aforementioned parks already has an extensive mosquito control program, and issuing free containers of insect repellent will act as an extra layer of protection and peace of mind for guests.
“Both our government leaders and our tourism businesses are very serious about mosquito control”, he said, according to the Sentinel.

At Busch Gardens, the repellent is available at specified locations throughout the park for guests to self administer, spokeswoman Karen Varga-Sinka said.
