Go Ape employees, park rangers, and then paramedics tried first aid and advanced life-saving efforts, but Werner was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a woman who fell from a zip line ride at Lums Pond State Park in Bear. No-one else was injured.
Participants at Go Ape courses are equipped with climbing harnesses and two sets of ropes with carabiners that they unclip and clip to safety wires in sequence as they move through the trees.
The Lums Pond State Park needs to evaluate whether it’s worth having such a unsafe attraction at their location since the platform isn’t safe for consumers anymore.
Melissa Slater posted a picture of Tina at her wedding on Facebook, writing: “About three hours ago, I was told that my mother has died”.
The Go Ape team is deeply saddened by this tragic occurrence. The thoughts and prayers of all of us remain with the family and friends.
“I am thankful to be her daughter”, she wrote.
‘We will of course be cooperating with the authorities with regard to this incident.
According to Go Ape policy, visitors are given a 30-minute safety briefing with an instructor before going it alone on the course.

The highest platform is around 50ft. An autopsy was planned, but foul play is not suspected, authorities said. They also must read and sign a waiver before using the zip line. The police are continuing an investigation into what happened that led to the woman’s death.
