Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Paris St-Germain forward says he is likely to leave

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed he expects to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season after firing them to a fourth successive Ligue 1 title.

Ibrahimovic took centre stage in the second half with four goals that added his total French Ligue 1 score to 102 goals, including 27 in 24 games this season, breaching the 100 barrier for the first time.

However, the 34-year-old is out of contract in June and hinted after the game that he sees his future away from the club – unless something quite extraordinary happens.

Club president Nasser al-Khelaifi said after the match that he remained hopeful of keeping him, but the Swede seemed firm in his decision. “He is a great player. We also want to win the Coupe de la Ligue, the Coupe de France but also the Champions League – even if it will be hard”.

“We’ll celebrate tonight but we need to stay focused”.

Edinson Cavani, Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot put them 3-0 up inside 19 minutes before Ibrahimovic struck three within 10 minutes in the second half.

Then Arda Turan completed the thrashing with an overhead volley to finish off the hapless visitors, who have lost eight of their last nine league games.

Unlike last season when Paris waited until late March to take over top spot, the capital club have set the pace uninterrupted since beating Gazelec Ajaccio 2-0 in their second game of the campaign.

Cavani got himself a brace, whilst a miserable day for Troyes defender Saunier was compounded with an own goal. He has responded brilliantly, clearly loves playing for the team and now has a genuine chance of leading them to Champions League glory in the next few months. PSG, having beaten Chelsea for the second season running will be hoping to avoid a second straight meeting with Barcelona in the final eight.

But at PSG, the strangely under-rated Blanc has developed a strategy which makes Ibrahimovic the centre-piece of everything they do.

With the win in Troyes, PSG came out the earliest side to ever be crowned domestic champions in one of Europe’s top five soccer leagues. You know that Zlatan can do a job and N’Golo Kante can do a job for us – I’m sure Leicester fans will be upset with what I said. Although everybody was aware title confirmation was only a matter of time for the Parisians, they can now completely turn their attention towards a bigger goal – UEFA Champions League.
