Zombieland 2 Is Still Somehow In The Works
First and foremost, though, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have now officially enlisted for Zombieland 2 and will soon begin coordinating with the core cast and, in particular, director David Callaham: “That is breaking news that we’re on Zombieland 2 right now”.

There are many memorable moments in 2009’s Zombieland.
Appearing on AMC’s Geeking Out with Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg, writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese revealed they’re now writing the script for “Zombieland 2”.
Do you think anyone else could have killed it in Bill Murray’s cameo role? “We offered it to probably twelve other actors, and every time we did, we rewrote the script to make jokes specific to that actor”.
In the film, a group of survivors played by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are forced to band together during a zombie apocalypse and drive across the country.
Reese and Wernick, who recently penned hit superhero movie Deadpool, also confirmed a Zombieland sequel is still in the works, suggesting the main original cast will all return, adding, “All the cast is pretty excited”. Sylvester Stallone, Kevin Bacon, and Mark Hamill all passed; after also turning it down, Jean-Claude Van Damme “subsequently, we heard through the grapevine, said it was the biggest mistake of his career”, the Reese said. “Do you have any ideas?’ He said, ‘Dustin Hoffman, and Bill Murray.'” Hoffman passed, and getting in touch with Murray is notoriously hard.
