ZombiU Port Confirmed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One
Zombi is a remake of ZombiU, a 2012 launch title for the struggling Nintendo platform, coming to nu-gen consoles and PC on August 18th. If the player is killed by a zombie, they come back as a different survivor and must take down their former, newly-zombified self to earn back all their old loot.

In a press release, Ubisoft said: “The nail-biting survival experience has been optimized for PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and Windows PC, using the power of the latest generation of hardware to bring gamers to a new level of horror”. The company is sure to tease how thoroughly the “survival” aspect comes into play – says Ubisoft, “one wrong move” and you may lose everything, and that death is permanent. For instance, the minimap now sits on the screen since there’s no GamePad on other systems.

The game is being pitched as an “upgrade” rather than a full redevelopment, and will feature the same story and locations as the original, as well as the same “permadeath” mechanic that sees you start from scratch every time you die. The field of view has been expanded and can be adjusted “a little”, and a pair of new melee weapons, the shovel and the nail bat, have been added. Yes, it was one of the system’s best early games, and still gets plenty of love. Zombi will be lacking Zombi U’s single-console multiplayer. “We decided to focus on the solo mode, as we believe this is where the ZombiU experience really lay”. There’s also been a redesign of the inventory and mini-game elements which originally were exclusively on the gamepad creating tension by forcing a player to look away from the main screen. Are you looking forward to changes made?
