Having been raised by a Catholic mother and Quaker father, Deschanel reportedly has said she was encouraged to assign herself to any religion she preferred.
Last month Deschanel stopped by the “Today” show to explain why the couple decided on this unusual name for their daughter.
“We only really liked the name Elsie and then we both love otters, they’re quite sweet and they’re also bright”, she shared.
