Zoolander 2 Trailer is Most Successful Comedy Trailer Launch

Zoolander 2 is coming out over 14 years after the original Zoolander, and time will tell whether the brand still has a pull in theaters.

They like Zoolander, they really like Zoolander.

The trailer, which features the return of Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller as well as new faces including Bendict Cumberbatch and Justin Bieber, has racked up more than 52m hits since its release.

Since its debut last Wednesday, the Zoolander 2 trailer has been viewed over 52.2 million times, solidifying it as “the most successful comedy trailer launch of all time” according to Paramount. Newcomers to the beloved comedy include Penelope Cruz, Justin Bieber, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Milla Jovovich, Christine Taylor, Justin Theroux, Kyle Mooney and Benedict Cumberbatch.

In addition to starring and directing, Stiller has his hands full in this cookie jar, also having written the script alongside Theroux, Nick Stoller, and John Hamburg. It’s being produced by Stiller, Scott Rudin, Clayton Townsend and Stuart Cornfeld with Jeff Mann as the executive producer.
