Her friend and former publicist, Edward Lozzi, told USA TODAY that Gabor died Sunday afternoon.

A third Gabor sister, actress Magda, died in 1997.
Zsa Zsa first began her career in the limelight after she was crowned Miss Hungary in 1936.

Among Gabor’s other relationships was a short-lived marriage to actor George Sanders – who later married her sister Magda – and marriages to a builder, an oilman and an inventor.
During the last few years of her life, Gabor was confined to a wheelchair following a auto accident that left her partly paralyzed in 2002.
Gabor was hospitalised in February, two days after her 99th birthday, due to breathing difficulties.

She made her film debut in the musical Lovely to Look At (1952) opposite Red Skelton, Kathryn Grayson and Howard Keel.
In many ways she was a prototype for modern-day pseudo-stars like the Kardashians and Hilton.
Gabor died surrounded by friends and family at her USA home on Sunday, her ninth husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt said.
But Gabor was also capable of parodying her image, particularly after a 1989 incident in which she was accused of slapping a Beverly Hills police officer after a traffic stop. In 2005, her step-father Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt filed a suit against her, accusing her of fraud.

She had a daughter, Francesca, with Hilton, who never believed she was his biological heir. As Austria joined forces with Germany in World War II, Gabor and her family high-tailed it to safety in the United States in 1941 and soon found fame.
