ZTE Axon 7 packs high-end specs, all-metal design for $450
Initially, the smartphone was called the Axon 2, but it seems that the company ultimately made a decision to go with Axon 7.

The ZTE Axon 7 has stereo front-facing speakers and support for 24-bit, 96 kHz audio. Today ZTE announced the Axon 7, the successor to last year’s Axon flagship, and keeping with the trend it packs and impressive array of hardware in a nice package and pairs it with a wallet friendly price.
This year’s Axon model has an all-metal casing which curves towards the edges to ensure a very comfortable in-hand feel, while the internals boast specs you’d expect to find in the best smartphones around. BMW’s DesignWorks team assisted in the overall design of the Axon 7 which looks like they took some time to get together. In the case of the ZTE VR, that means a nine-axis gyroscope, with official latency of just 18 milliseconds (though ZTE says it can push things as low as 16.7 milliseconds, for those of you keeping score).
The ZTE Axon 7 is a high-end Android 6.0 phone with a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display. ‘Round back there’s a 20-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and optical image stabilization, as well as a fingerprint reader.
The Axon 7 will initially launch in China, but it will eventually be available in the U.S. and Europe as well. ZTE also today introduced its own VR device called ZTE VR. If the storage is not enough, both the variants have a MicroSD card slot for expansion.
ZTE’s new Axon 7 promises to be more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S7 range and not to mention cheaper.
There are also two memory configurations, a 64GB model with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB version with a whopping 6GB of RAM.

Customers that do sprint for the Axon 7 will get the Axon Passport Program 2.0, which offers two years of protection that includes unlimited out-of-warranty repairs, free shipping for replacement or repaired devices, and assistance with upgrades, replacements, and setup. In the United States, it’ll be available from ZTE, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, eBay, and Newegg for a price that ZTE hasn’t officially announced, but promises will be less than $500.
